About this role:
Palace Football Club is hiring a commercially minded, strategically focused on Commercial Strategy to shape how commercial stakeholder decision-making works across the Commercial Department. The role is responsible for defining the club's commercial data strategy, identifying growth opportunities across hospitality, sponsorship, catering and premium sales, building campaigns and working closely with senior leaders to drive revenue, retention and long-term value.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Direction & Commercial Planning
• Own the Club’s commercial data strategy across hospitality, sponsorship, catering and premium sales, translating insights into commercial initiatives
• Build and maintain a roadmap for how data underpins pricing, product development, audience targeting and partner value
• Lead strategic planning sessions with Heads of Department to drive insights into departmental strategies
• Develop segmentation, lead scoring and propensity models to support targeted sales and marketing
• Deliver medium–long term commercial forecasts and scenario planning to inform growth decisions
Campaign Development
• Partner with Marketing to design and evaluate campaigns that drive acquisition, renewal and lifetime value
• Co-lead the design and execution of seasonal campaigns connecting sponsorship activations, hospitality experiences, catering offerings and premium sales initiatives
• Develop campaign briefs, measurement frameworks and post-campaign reviews to optimise spend and performance
• Shape commercial narratives and value propositions for internal stakeholders, agency partners and board review
• Create comprehensive campaign decks and business cases for stakeholder approval and board presentation
Executive Support
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CCO, providing data-driven insight and recommendations
• Develop presentation decks, financial models and narratives for board and ownership presentations
• Support the CCO in articulating commercial vision and performance, translating complex data into clear summaries
• Build financial forecasts, scenario analysis and investment cases to support capital allocation
Commercial Analytics & Performance Management
• Lead commercial analytics across revenue areas, setting KPIs, reporting cadence and performance reviews
• Build models to support pricing, product viability, pipeline planning and partnership negotiations
• Produce performance summaries that drive accountability and inform resource focus
• Develop dashboards that create a unified view of commercial performance and support non-technical users
• Drive performance conversations and embed accountability for commercial outcomes
Operational Excellence & Partnership
• Identify commercial opportunities including upsell, cross-sell, packaging and retention strategies
• Ensure commercial insights are consistent, comparable and actionable across departments
• Partner with Technology, CRM and data partners to maintain a unified data infrastructure
• Build relationships with key suppliers and agencies to maximise value and commercial benefit
• Manage partnerships that support commercial growth, revenue and customer experience
Culture & Continuous Improvement
Build a culture of data-driven thinking and continuous improvement across the Commercial Department
Lead strategic initiatives that connect marketing, sales, operations and partnerships through insight
Own CRM governance, data quality standards and GDPR compliance for commercial data usage
Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Commercial acumen and understanding of revenue streams (hospitality, sponsorship, catering, premium sales)
• Advanced analytics and financial modeling skills with ability to build forecasts and scenario planning
• Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns with integrated approach across customer acquisition and retention
• Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills, particularly at board/ownership level
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
• Leadership capability to influence across functions and embed commercial thinking in organisational culture
• Financial modeling and investment case development experience
• Experience supporting C-suite executives with board presentations and strategic communications
• SQL – ability to extract and manipulate data from relational databases
• Excel – Advanced functionality including pivot tables and formulas
• Power BI (or similar BI tool) – Ability to create dashboards and visualisations
• Basic Python – For data cleaning, analysis and simple automation
• CRM - Salesforce
• Data visualization tool
